On March 19th, Unitree updated its news and shared a video of the humanoid robot Yushu G1 completing a side flip, calling it the "world's first humanoid robot to complete a side flip".
Unitree announced that one year ago, Yushu H1 (1.8 meters) achieved the world's first electrically driven humanoid robot to perform an aerial flip in place (March 2024). This time, I took some time off and challenged myself to a more difficult backflip on the spot.
The video shows that the Yushu G1 robot can maintain balance and stop steadily after completing the side flip action.
In addition, the official comments section of Unitree also stated that starting from today, the Unitree Robot Side Flip Real Person Challenge will be the world's first real person to replicate this action, who can receive a G1 humanoid robot or other equivalent gifts. The competition rules are: please stand in place and jump directly. The competition valid for 3 months. More details and rules will be announced later.
