BYD plans to build over 4000 "megawatt flash charging stations"

On the evening of March 17th, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group, presented several core data points at the Super e-platform technology conference, including 1000 amps, 1 megawatt, 10C, and 30000 revolutions per minute. This solution is to make charging as quick as refueling a gasoline car.

The above data respectively mean that the charging current of the "flash charging battery" reaches 1000A, the charging power reaches 1 megawatt (1000kW), the charging rate reaches 10C, and BYD's mass-produced 30000 RPM motor.

BYD’s new charging system allows EVs to be powered up in almost the same time it takes to fill a gasoline car. This breakthrough could encourage more people to switch from traditional cars to EVs.

With the support of 1000V voltage and 1000A current, BYD's "flash charging battery" can achieve the world's largest mass-produced charging power of 1 megawatt (1000kW), officially entering the "megawatt era" of charging power and achieving the highest peak charging speed of "2 kilometers per second",jn just 5 minutes, adding 400 kilometers (249 miles) of driving range.
